Six Patong Transgenders Fined after Attacking Transgender from Pattaya

Patong/Pattaya:

A confrontation involving six individuals resulted in each being levied a fine of 1,000 baht following an altercation with a transgender Thai tourist from Pattaya on Bangla Road, Patong.

The incident, which was captured in a widely circulated social media video on Tuesday (May 14th), took place at approximately 3:30 A.M. outside an unidentified local establishment in Phuket.

Colonel Chalermsak Hernsawat, the Chief of Patong Police, provided this information to the Phuket Express.

The individuals involved, all of whom are employed on Bangla Road, were summoned to the Patong Police Station. They received fines for engaging in a dispute and creating a disturbance in a public area. The tourist from Pattaya, who was the subject of the attack, has yet to lodge a formal complaint with the authorities and is reported to have departed from Phuket.

The Phuket Express has acknowledged that the Patong Police have withheld specifics regarding the identities of the six individuals and the circumstances that precipitated the altercation.
