National —

Thailand’s stunning Maya Bay on Phi Phi Island has been named the fifth-best beach in the world by Beach Atlas, a UK-based website.

The Golden Beach Awards 2024, which ranks the top 100 beaches globally, was based on votes from travelers, photographers, and influencers around the world, according to Beach Atlas. It takes into account factors such as natural beauty, classic appeal, nightlife, lifestyle, community value, biodiversity, and cultural significance.

This year, Bora Bora Beach in French Polynesia has secured the first spot. Meanwhile, Maya Bay in Krabi province, southern Thailand, has secured the fifth spot after Copacabana Beach in Brazil.

Apart from Maya Bay, two other beaches in Thailand also made it on the list including, Pattaya Beach in Chonburi and Railay Beach in Krabi, having been ranked 12th and 66th respectively.
