Phuket Ranked Top Global Tourist Destination for 2024

PRESS RELEASE:

Chakrapong Saengmanee, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, has reported that international media have named Phuket the best tourist destination in the world for 2024.

He said that the recognition is attributed to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s commitment, evidenced by his four visits to the island, emphasizing the development of infrastructure and the enhancement of tourism standards to their fullest potential.

During these visits, the Prime Minister engaged with local authorities to expedite the overall development of the tourism sector, including transportation and public utilities, to ensure convenient and safe travel and services for tourists.

Chakrapong highlighted that Phuket is not only an island rich in natural resources and vibrant local culture but also boasts high-quality hotels and restaurants ready to serve a large number of tourists.

He further clarified that Phuket’s international acclaim results from the hard work of the Phuket community and government support in maintaining standards and continuous development, making tourism a primary and sustainable source of revenue for the country.

Thus, Phuket serves as an exemplary model of tourism that not only enhances the nation’s wealth but also generates community income and increases state revenue through taxes, which can be reinvested in the country’s further development.
