UPDATE: Man Arrested after Acid Attack On Woman at Pharmacy in Soi Ta-iad

A man was arrested after he alledgedy attacked a member of staff at a pharmacy with acid in the famous Muay Thai street at Soi Ta-iad, Chalong.

The injured woman had sustained injuries from burn wounds to her face and body.

Now for the update:

On Wednesday evening (May 8th) the Chalong Police Chief Colonel Eakkarat Plaiduang told the Phuket Express that they had continued their investigation to track down the suspect. They found the suspect, who was identified by police only as Mr. Saeree, 33, at a rental room near a school in Baan Samkong on the Yaowarat Road in Talad Yai, Phuket Town.

Bandages were found on his head, face and eye. He had also been injured by the acid during the attack. He was taken to the Chalong Police Station to face charges of assault causing severe injury.

The suspect did not release any statement. Police quickly arrested the suspect within 24 hours after the incident as they said this was a serious offence.
