Patong –
A German motorbike rider was arrested for drunk driving on Wednesday (May 8th).
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they had set up a police checkpoint near the dolphin intersection (local name) on the Taweewong Road in Patong. At 3:30 A.M. a suspicious male foreign motorbike rider was stopped at the police checkpoint.
He was given an alcohol breath test. The test showed .103 milligrams percent of alcohol which was well over the legal alcohol limit of .50. The rider was identified by police only as a 45 year-old German national.
He was taken to Patong Police Station to face charges of drunk driving. He did not immediately release a statement to the media.
