Wanted British Man Arrested after Being Found Begging on Pha Ngan Island

A wanted British man Allegedly involved with illegal drugs on Samui Island was arrested after he was found begging on Pha Ngan Island in Surat Thani.

The Koh Pha Ngan District Chief told the Phuket Express that earlier this week the Samui Tourist Police arrested the suspect identified only as Mr. Nicholas, 47, British national, near a market on Pha Ngan Island.

The arrest came after the tourist police were notified from locals that a foreigner was found begging for money. He allegedly took the money to buy illegal drugs for himself. Officers found Mr. Nicholas who was shirtless holding a paper with a message saying he need money for food.

Officers found that Mr. Nicholas is a wanted suspect who was allegedly involved with illegal drugs. The arrest warrant was issued by the Samui Provincial Court in Surat Thani on April 10th of this month. He admitted to police that he is the wanted suspect in the arrest warrant. He had previously escaped from Samui Island to Pha Ngan Island.

He was taken to Pha Ngan Police Station to face additional charges other than in the arrest warrant for being a foreigner who was illegally bagging and illegal possession of category 1 drugs.
