Phuket Records Zero Deaths in Two Days of the ‘Songkran Seven Days Road Safety Campaign’

Phuket has announced a total of 12 road accidents, 12 injuries and zero deaths in two days (April 11th – April 12th) of the seven days (April 11th, 2024 to April 17th, 2024) of the ‘Songkran Road Safety Campaign 2024′.

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Saturday (April 13th) the details of the second day (April 12th) of the campaign.

Six road accidents were in the Mueang District with six injuries. Two accidents with two injuries took place in the Kathu district (Home of Patong). There were no road accidents in the Thalang district.

Of those, ten injuries were Thais, one injury was a foreigner and one was a migrant worker. Nine accidents were caused by excessive speeding and two caused by drunk driving. Eleven road accidents involved motorcycles and seven of those people were not wearing helmets. Most road accidents occurred on highway roads.
