Fire at Rassada Municipality Alarms Officials and Staffers

A fire broke out at the Rassada Municipality which alarmed officials and staffers on Tuesday morning (April 9th).

Rassada firefighters were notified of the fire at 9:00 A.M. at the Rassada Municipality on the Rassada Nusorn Road in Rassada, Mueang Phuket. They arrived at the scene with multiple fire engines to find the fire was in ablaze.

Smoke was coming out from the building on the first floor. Staffers and officials including the Rassada Mayor Mr. Nakarin Yorsangrat were working inside the building. All officials and staff managed to successfully escape from the building. It took more than one hour to control the fire.

Rassada Mayor Mr. Nakarin told the Phuket Express that he had smelled something burning and he and staff tried to find the source. They then saw a fire on the ceiling inside a storage room that is used to keep documents. Someone pushed the fire alarm and called fire fighters.

Some documents were destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be from an electric short circuit and nobody was injured.
