Thirty-two Gamblers Arrested in Phuket Town

Thirty-two Gamblers were arrested at a gambling den in Phuket Town on Saturday (April 6th).

The Phuket City Police Chief Coonel Pratueang Phonmana told the Phuket Express that after midnight, at 0:30 A.M., they raided a gambling den at a building on the Chana Jaroen Road in the Talad Yai sub-district, Mueang Phuket.

They arrested 32 unidentified male and female gamblers. Police seized 1,700-baht in cash and gambling cards. They were taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charges of participating in illegal gambling.

One of the suspects has denied the charges while the rest of them have admitted the charges. One of them is also facing an additional charge of operating illegal gambling. It has been reported that the one who has denied the charge arrested at the gambling den is a Region 8 Police officer but has not been identified by name at this time by law enforcement.
