Top Athletes from 28 Countries & Thailand competed at ‘TAT Samui Open Beach Volleyball Tournament’.
The 6th annual Samui Open Beach Volleyball Tournament was held on Koh Samui, Thailand 29, 30 & 31 March 2024 at SEEN Beach Club and proved to be an outstanding success for all involved. The thrilling sporting event proved to be a big boost for Sports-Tourism for Southern Thailand & Koh Samui.
The Samui-based International Tournament was originated by organizer Biggs Island Productions (BIP) in 2016 in recognizing the growing global interest in Beach Volleyball and has since been held annually on Koh Samui. The BIP organised Tournament was presented by Tourism Authority Thailand (TAT) & Amazing Thailand, and hosted by SEEN Beach Club/Avani Hotel Chaweng and supported by Koh Samui Municipality (Tessaban).
The 88 Team spots participating in the 2024 beach volleyball tournament were filled several months in advance, early on boasting of thrilling play to come over the three-day event. Teams competed in four divisions (Men’s 2X2, Women’s 2X2, Mix 2X2 Quads 4X4) for the THB100,000 Prize Money and trophies, medals, sponsor vouchers and volleyball gear and apparel.
The weather was perfect as the games commenced, with the sun shining down on superb play throughout the three days of matches. Approximately 600 enthusiastic spectators viewed the international event over multiple day event, enjoying exciting play from the 135 top athletes representing 28 countries from Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Asia.
Koh Samui Hotels officially used by Tournament players and spectators included Avani Chaweng Hotel, KC Beach Club, Nantra Hotel Chaweng and Green Hotel Chaweng. Nightly entertainment was enjoyed by players and spectators at SEEN Beach Club, Charlie’s House Restaurant,Tropical Murphy’s Restaurant & Bar and Lost Beach Bar & Restaurant Chaweng. Event day activities enjoyed included Mr. Ung’s 4×4 Island Tour, Samui Disc Golf, Samui Quad Motor Tour, KC Beach Club buffet and Neverland Boat Tour to Angthong Marine Park.
