1. A former spouse has fatally shot himself in front of his ex-wife, who is a doctor, at a hospital in Bangkok’s Chokchai 4 area on Monday, March 25th, 2024.

The physician was reportedly examining a patient in her office when her ex-husband shot himself in the chest area and sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them shortly afterward.

2. Mr. Chris Cherdsuriya, Chief Advisor to the Executive Board of Honor Group, a Pattaya-based real estate and hotel operator, publicly revealed his support for legalizing casinos in Thailand as a part of entertainment complexes including various activities and services.

The Thai House of Parliament voted to agree on deliberation on the study of opening an Entertainment Complex, which would include a legal casino, to tackle illegal gambling and boost the national economy in a vote of 253 to 0 with 4 abstentions.

Any sort of final decisions will take some time however.

3. The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a warning for residents, especially in the northern parts of Thailand, to prepare for a surge in temperatures expected to occur from the end of March through early April.

A subsequent increase in temperatures is anticipated across the North between March 30 and April 3.

4. Thailand’s parliament has overwhelmingly passed legislation that legalizes same-sex marriage.

The legislation, which amends the Civil and Commercial Code, allows individuals of all genders to marry.

5. Thai national media reported that the Thai cabinet approved five bills to amend the alcoholic beverage control law. These proposed changes included extending selling hours and permitting more flexibility for advertisements.

The Thai government emphasized the importance of promoting economic growth and tourism through more lenient alcohol regulations, while also safeguarding public health.
