Upon the Koh Phangan police investigation, a group of foreigners were found participating in a yoga class at the reported location. The group of foreigners reportedly showed signs of anxiousness and panic, and some of them attempted to flee from the police.

According to the Koh Phangan police report, the owner of the place was identified only as Mr. Michal, a 46-year-old Polish national. Michal told the police that he established the yoga institute with various classes of yoga.

According to Thai national media, Michal was a famous YouTuber who teaches yoga and lifestyle vlogs.
