An Israeli woman was arrested on Thursday (March 14th) after she allegedly operated a nursery without legal permission on Koh Pha Ngan in Surat Thani.
The Koh Pha Ngan Police Chief Colonel Panya Nirattimanon told the Phuket Express that at 12:30 P.M. on the day in question they inspected a rented house at a coconut plantation in the Koh Pha Ngan sub-district. About 50 three to seven year old foreign kids were found inside the nursery.
MS. SULI, 56, an Israeli national whose last name was withheld, was arrested. She is facing charges of operating a nursery as a foreigner without legal permission, working without permission, hiring foreigners who do not have work permits and being an employer who failed to report to legal officials the hiring of employees within 15 days.
Four other foreigners were found allegedly working illegally and were arrested at the nursery.
MR. ALON, a 50-year-old Israeli national and MR. DANIEL, a 38-year-old British national are facing charges of working without legal permission.
MS. LOUISE, 42, a South African national, and MS. HLA HLA, 28, Myanmar national, are facing charges of being foreigners who have work permits but did not report themselves as being employed to officials within 15 days.
They were all taken to Koh Pha Ngan Police Station for further legal action.
The nursery had been operating for more than one year and generated about one million baht per month, Colonel Panya noted.
