Phuket –

The annual Phuket Heroines’ Festival in Thalang is underway. Historical performances started the festival on Wednesday night on March 13th which marks ‘Thalang Victory Day’.

The Phuket Vice Governor Sophon Suwannarat led the opening for the historical performance of Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Sri Soonthorn during the “239th anniversary in honor of the two heroines of Thalang.”

The key moment of the event is the historical performance of the Thao Thep Krasattri and the Thao Si Soonthorn over the three days festival.

The two heroines and the ancestors of Phuket fought and sacrificed themselves with bravery for the protection of the land on which many ancestors still reside peacefully today.

There are many other activities such as traditional light and sound performances called ‘The Journey’, the selling of various products and local food from Phuket with many stalls, and a lot more.

The festival is being held at the Thalang Historical Park in Baan Reang, Thep Krasattri, Thalang district from 5:00 P.M. onward through tomorrow (March 15th).
