Chinese Man Arrested in Phuket for Allegedly Being a Tour Guide

Phuket –

A Chinese man was arrested after he was allegedly working illegally as a tour guide.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that on Friday (March 1st) they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Mah, 32, a Chinese national in Wichit.

He was taken to the Wichit Police Station. He is facing charges of working without permission and being a tour guide without a license.

A tour guide is a protected Thai occupation, notes The Phuket Express, and foreigners cannot even get a work permit to legally be one.
