Doctor Allegedly Kicked by Foreigner Near Villa at Beach in Thalang, Goes Viral Online – Video

Thalang –

A doctor was allegedly kicked and verbally assaulted by a foreign man and his Thai wife near a villa at a beach in Pa Klok.

A video of the incident can be seen here. It contains harsh language that could offend sensitive viewers.

A female doctor in Phuket filed a report to the Thalang Police with alleged proof in the form of medical documentation of her injuries earlier this week. She told police that she was sitting at night watching the full moon with her friends on the stairs of a villa that is connected to Yamu beach.

A foreign man suddenly came out from the luxury pool villa before allegedly kicking her in the back, she claims. His Thai wife was said to have also verbally assaulted the doctor. She allegedly said her son was in the police and knows many high-ranking police officers in Phuket and if the doctor was shot it would be legal because the victim had allegedly invaded their villa. The couple allegedly said they would file a report to Thai police against the doctor for the night invasion, according to the victim.

The doctor, however, decided to make the story go viral online, believing the threats of the couple to be a bluff and also believing the steps illegally encroached on a public beach.

The story has now gone viral on social media with thousands of comments mostly defending the victim. Mr. D (alias), 45, a Swiss national, and his lawyer met with the Thalang Police. He told police that he did not kick the doctor. He claims he slipped before his foot accidentally hit her back. He said he also recorded a video when he was walking toward the doctor who was sitting at the stairs.

However, the video was not immediately released to the public. However, footage allegedly leaked on social media appears to show the foreigner shouting at the two Thais to “Get the **** off” without any sign of a polite request to leave or conversation. The moment of the alleged kick is unclear, with the camera turned slightly away during that alleged moment.

The Thalang Police are continuing investigations over the issue. The Phuket Land Office is also now allegedly inspecting the villa to see if the stairs are encroaching on the public beach as concern was expressed by thousands of users on social media that the beach is public land.

The full names of the parties involved were withheld by Thai police, who said they are trying to mediate solutions between the two groups. Meanwhile, Thai social media continues to debate the issue, with many Thais enraged over the situation and calling for full legal investigations including against the land deed of the property and even the business owned by the foreigner in Phuket, who is a local ex-pat and not a tourist.
