One Young Teen Dead, One Missing in Sea Near Koh Samui

Samui, Surat Thani –

A 15-year-old teenager died while another is missing after they went swimming in the sea off of Koh Samui.

Rescue divers were notified at 6:00 P.M. on Monday (February 26th) that two male teenagers were missing in the sea at Chaweng Beach in the Bo Phut sub-district, Samui district. They arrived at the beach to find red flags out on a ‘no swimming’ area along the beach.

The two missing male teenagers were identified by officials as Mr. Natthaphon and Mr. Mark, both were 15-years-old. Their friends told officers that five of them in total had gone swimming in the sea. The waves were up to two meters high and washed two of them away. A search was later launched for them.

At 9:20 P.M. Mr. Mark was found dead on a beach about 1.6 kilometers from where he was last seen. Mr. Natthaphon is still missing as of press time and the search continues.
