Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Sergeant Goes on Rampage, Stabs Innocent Elderly People, One Killed and Another Injured

At 6:40 PM, on February 24th, 2024, Cha-uat police officers received a knife crime report of a police sergeant going on a rampage and stabbing two innocent elderly people on a motorbike in Cha-uat, Nakhon Si Thammarat, causing one casualty and one serious injury.

According to a report by an unidentified witness, the suspect ran from a police residence and suddenly kicked the two female elders on a motorbike before stabbing them with a sharp object.

After committing the knife crime, the suspect reportedly ran to the Cha-uat police station. The suspect immediately was captured on sight by the police, according to the unidentified witness.

As a result, one female elder was tragically killed on the scene and another was transferred to the Cha-uat Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

In response to the incident, Pol. Maj. Gen. Somchai Suetortrakul, the Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Commander, was assigned as a head investigator to investigate the case closely. The suspect, publicly identified as Pol. Sgt. Chavanil Jindamaneemat, was tested negative for drug tests.

However, the suspect would be examined further for illicit substances in the blood system, according to Pol. Maj. Gen. Somchai.
It was reported that the suspect had medical records from Songklanagarind Hospital for severe depression, according to a physician.

The victims’ relatives told the police that they had never met the suspect before and held no grudge against him.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Somchai asserted that the suspect would face legal action fairly and that the victims and families would receive aid from the government with great effort.

The suspect was later escorted to make a confession plan at the crime scene before being placed in custody at the Nakhon Si Thammarat court for further legal processing without bail from the police.
