Kratom Juice Vendor Arrested in Thalang

A Kratom juice vendor was arrested at a local grocery store in the Sakoo sub-district.

Thalang District Officers told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (February 20th) they inspected a local grocery store near the Nai Yang Temple in Sakoo. There they arrested the male grocery store owner (His name and age were not given by officers).

The inspection followed after complaints from concerned citizens. Seized from him were many bottles containing Kratom juice and also some in huge cooking pots.

Police are warning local groceries in Phuket and Thailand that Kratom juice is listed as a controlled herbal product and any such controlled herbal product must be given permission by the Thai Food and Drug Administration before selling.

Kratom Juice is also not allowed to be an ingredient or mixed into other food or juice for selling. So even pure Kratom Juice in a bottle cannot be sold, especially on public streets.

Anyone who breaks the law could be imprisoned from six months to two years or fined from 5,000 Baht to 20,000 baht.
