Four Taxi Drivers Charged after Threatening Mobile Application Taxi Driver in Phuket

Cherng Talay –

Four taxi drivers have been fined after they threatened a mobile application taxi driver in Cherng Talay.

The Cherng Talay Pollice told the Phuket Express that earlier this week a mobile application taxi driver filed a report to police. He told police that he picked up tourists at a hotel in Cherng Talay.

There were about three to five local taxi drivers who blocked his taxi and hit the vehicle. His passengers were frightened as a result. The Cherng Talay Police and the Phuket Tourist Police tracked down those local taxi drivers but did not identify them by name to the Thai media.

On Monday (February 19th) four taxi drivers were called to the Cheng Talay Police Station. They are facing charges of threatening others. They will be fined up to 10,000 baht or imprisoned up to one month or both for their actions, said police.
