Fire Destroys Second Hand Shop in Thalang, About 10 Million Baht in Damages

Thalang –

A fire destroyed a second-hand shop in Thalang with damage costing about 10 million baht.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at 3:20 P.M. on Tuesday (January 30th) at a second-hand shop on the Thep Krasattri Road in the Sri Soonthorn sub-district. They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find a lot of black smoke and that the fire was heavily ablaze.

A short part of the road was temporarily blocked for fire engines. It took about an hour to control the fire due to dry weather and strong winds. However, the fire did not spread to the nearby area.

Two unidentified staffers of the shop and a firefighter sustained minor injuries. Staffers told Thai media that the fire started from the back of the shop but it was unclear exactly where. The cost of damages is estimated at about 10 million baht and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the Thai Forensic Police.
