Twenty-Three Gamblers Arrested in Wichit

Twenty-three gamblers were arrested while they were playing a local gambling game in Wichit.

The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (January 24th) they raided a work camp near the entrance of a housing estate on the Khwang Road. Twenty-three gamblers were arrested. Seized from them were a local southern gambling play set (Locally called shrimp, fish, flower) and 5,410-baht in cash.

They were taken to the Wichit Police Station to face charges of joining in gambling without permission. One of the suspects is facing additional charges of illegally providing a gambling den, and another gambler is also facing additional charges of organising the gambling.

The names of the suspects were not released by Wichit police.
