Three People Arrested with Illegal Cigarettes Seized Worth Five Million Baht in Wichit

Three suspects were arrested at three separate shops with illegal cigarettes seized worth five million baht in Wichit.

The Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they raided three shops on the Pattana Thongthin Road and the Chao Fa East Road in Wichit. Three people were arrested who were identified only as Mr. Eakkachai, Ms. Paweena and Mr. Pongphon.

Seized from them were in total 28,895 boxes of illegal cigarettes which is worth about five million baht.

All three were taken to the Wichit Police Station to face charges of offenses to the consumer protection law (Selling cigarettes without tax being paid.)
