Sea Turtle Lays 120 Eggs on Beach in Phang Nga

Phang Nga –

A sea turtle laid 120 eggs on a beach in the Takua Pa district.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that on Friday (January 19th) they were notified from a village headman that a trace of a sea turtle was found on the Koh Kor Khao Beach in the Koh Kor Khao sub-district.

The DMCR found a sea turtle nest with 120 sea turtle eggs. Of those, 63 were fertile eggs.

The eggs were relocated to a safer area on the beach where sea water could not reach the nest. The DMCR officials stated that the baby sea turtles should hatch in about 60 days.
