Spanish Man Arrested for Stealing from Mongolian Woman at a Patong Nightclub

A Spanish man was arrested after he stole a bag with a mobile phone, cash, and keys from a Mongolian woman at a night club on the Bangla Road.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Sunday (January 7th) they arrested a Spanish man, 23. Seized from him was a stolen iPhone 14 Pro mobile phone. He was arrested near the Bangla Police Box on the Taweewong Road in Patong and was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of night theft.

The arrest came after on Saturday (January 6th) in the early morning when a Mongolian woman, whose name was withheld, filed a report to the Patong Police. She told police that her bag with the iPhone, 10,000 Baht in cash, and a room key was stolen. She had placed the bag on a sofa inside an unidentified night club on the Bangla Road. Police continued their investigation and checked CCTV footage to finally identify and arrest the suspect. CCTV footage appears to show the man clearly taking and walking away with the purse.

The suspect did not release a statement to the press about the charges and the situation. His name was withheld by the Patong Police.
