Phuket Reports Total of 26 Accidents in Four Days of New Year Seven Days Road Safety Campaign

Phuket has announced in total 26 road accidents with 27 injuries in four days (December 29th, 2023 – January 1st, 2024) of the New Year Seven Day Road Safety campaign (December 29th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Tuesday (January 2nd) details on the fourth day of the safety campaign (January 1st).

There were 6 road accidents with 6 injuries on the fourth day (January 1st). Four road accidents with four injuries were in the Mueang Phuket district. Two road accidents with two injuries was in Thalang. There were no road accidents in the Kathu district. No deaths were reported.

All 6 road accidents involved motorcycles.

One of those involved drunk driving and four were speeding related.

All the road accidents were on straight roads.

Since four days after the campaign started, Phuket has still reported zero deaths.
