A Russian teen was arrested after he allegedly tried using a knife to slash his own mother’s neck in Thalang.
The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident from the Thalang Hospital on Friday (December 29th). They went to the hospital to find the 46 year-old female Russian whose name was withheld by law enforcement. She had sustained severe injuries to her neck from several stab and slash wounds.
The Russian woman was trying to tell the police her story by writing on a piece of paper as she could not speak due to her injuries but was cognizant and alert. She told police that her son had injured her at their house. Police went to the house to find lots of blood on the floor and a knife was found at the scene.
The Thalang Police were later notified by the Phuket Tourist Police that there was a young foreign man who had arrived at the Phuket Tourist Police Station in distress and might be the suspect. The Thalang Police went to the Phuket Tourist Station.
Thalang police confirmed that the young man is the 17-year-old son of the injured Russian woman. He was taken to the Thalang Police Station. He is facing charges with attempted murder of his own mother. His name was withheld due to being a juvenile.
The victim did not state any reasons that her son may have attacked her and as of press time the teen was still distressed and had not released any statements.
