Former Soldier Arrested with 2,740 Meth Pills and 0.5kg of Crystal Meth in Chalong

A former soldier was arrested with 2,740 methamphetamine pills and half a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine in Chalong.

The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday (December 25th) they arrested a man identified only as Lance Corporal Nin, 30. He was a former soldier in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Seized from him were 2,740 methamphetamine pills and 576 grams of crystal methamphetamine. He was arrested at a store in Chalong.

The arrest came after the Chalong Police received a tip – off that the suspect was selling illegal drugs in Chalong area. He was allegedly a significant drug dealer in the area. He was arrested while he was delivering illegal drugs to a customer in the store. Police continued the search at a rental room on the Luang Por Cham Road in Chalong and also allegedly found more illegal drugs.

He was taken to the Chalong Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell.

It was not stated by the Chalong Police if the intended customer was charged as well.
