Fire Damages Home in Wichit Causing Over 300,000 Baht of Damages

Wichit –

A fire has damaged a house in a housing estate in Wichit.

Firefighters from the Wichit Municipality were notified of the fire after midday on Monday (December 25th) at the Phuket Villa 3 Soi 4/4 village.

Firefighters with two fire engines arrived at the scene to find lots of black smoke coming out from the house. It took about 20 minutes to control the fire and the fire did not spread to nearby houses. The house’s kitchen was totally destroyed but luckily no injuries were reported.

Mrs. Jantana Suppawiriyakorn, a witness, told the Phuket Express that she had been boiling candles, beeswax, and some herbs in the kitchen at the back of the house when the fire from the stove spread very quickly. She tried to put out the fire with a wet cloth but failed. The cost of damages is estimated at more than 300,000 baht. The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated by the forensic police as of press time.
