Phuket –

Thirty Chinese nationals were arrested after they were found illegally working at a construction site in Thalang.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (December 19th) officers from the Phuket Tourist Police, the Thalang Police, and the Phuket Employment Office inspected a construction site in the Baan Pa Krong Cheap, Thep Krasattri sub-district.

At first twelve Chinese nationals were arrested while 18 other Chinese ran away but were finally caught. They said they were brought aboard by a Chinese head worker/supervisor. They received 300 – 600 Yuan per day (1,500-3,000 baht) and they were found to be illegally working at the construction site.

They were taken to the Thalang Police Station to face charges of working without permission.

The name of the construction site and company was withheld by the Thai police.
