Four Danish tourists have sustained injuries after a pickup truck crashed with their minivan taxi in Thep Krasattri.
The Thalang Police were notified of the accident at 9:30 A.M. on Monday (December 11th) on the Mueang Mai – Paklok Road. Police, emergency responders, and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged minivan on the roadside.
Four Danish tourists in the same family were passengers in the minivan and had sustained injuries who were identified only as MRS. SANNE, 47, MR. JOAKIM, 55, MR. PAUL, 15 and MISS AGNES, 13. They were all taken to a nearby hospital.
Nearby, rescue workers found the damaged pickup truck whose driver was identified by police only as Mr. Sonthaya, 59, who had also sustained injuries.
The minivan driver was identified by police only as Mr. Kittisak, 23. He told police that they were coming from the Phuket International Airport heading to Ao Po Pier in Paklok. The pickup truck was coming from the opposite lane. The pickup truck was trying to overtake another vehicle in the same lane but crashed into the minivan instead.
The Thalang Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action.
