Ukrainian Man Allegedly Attacked and Extorted for Money in Chalong

A Ukrainian man allegedly was attacked and extorted for money in Chalong last week say Phuket Tourist Police.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express on Thursday (November 30th) that an unidentified Ukrainian man came in asking for help. He told the Phuket Tourist Police that he was attacked and extorted for 21,000 baht cash by a group of people that he knows in Chalong.

He is afraid that he and his family were put in danger by this situation. The Phuket Tourist Tourist Police took him to the Chalong Police Station to file an official report.

The Phuket Express noted that the Phuket Tourist Police did not reveal any details about the Ukrainian man or the specifics of the situation for him and his family’s safety.

As of press time this situation was reportedly still being investigated by relevant police in Phuket.
