Suspect Arrested with 200 Grams of Crystal Meth Worth 200,000 Baht in Thalang

A suspect was arrested with 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Pa Klok which is worth about 200,000 baht, say Thai police.

The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday (December 4th) they arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Somsak, 48, from Paklok. He was arrested at a house in Paklok and seized from him was 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine worth about 200,000 baht (1,000 grams = 1,000,000 baht).

The arrest came after police were notified from an anonymous tip-off that the suspect was selling illegal drugs in the area. Police went to the house where the suspect was found inside the toilet. He admitted to police that the drugs belong to him.

Somsak told police that he was hired by a man he only knew as Mr. Bang to deliver drugs. He received five grams of crystal methamphetamine for his work.

He was taken to the Thalang Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell.
