Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking and Seriously Injuring Victim in Phuket

Phuket –

A man was arrested at a hotel after he allegedly slashed a victim’s head causing severe injuries in Phuket.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) told the Phuket Express earlier this week that they had arrested a suspect publicly identified only as Mr. Saharat in front of a hotel in Karon, Mueang Phuket. He is accused of trying to kill another person and carrying a gun in public without permission.

The arrest follows after events on August 19th of this year when the victim, whose name was withheld for their safety, was driving a motorbike in a public park in the Talad Yai sub-district of Mueang Phuket. Saharat and his friends found the victim with who they’d had previously a conflict. Saharat and two other men with him allegedly used a knife to slash at the victim’s head before they sped away. The victim sustained severe head injuries.

The victim later filed an official report to the police. An arrest warrant was then issued by the Phuket Provincial Court for Saharat. Police also found Saharat had worked at a hotel in Karon before he was arrested.

As of press time Saharat remained in custody. The exact problem he had with the victim that sparked the incident was not immediately made clear to the press.
