Heavy Rain Forecasted in Upper and Southern Thailand This Week

National —

The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the upper and southern regions of the country, predicting another round of heavy rains and a drop in temperature this week.

In the upper part of Thailand, cold air masses from China are expected to cover the region between November 4th to 10th, 2023, leading to thunderstorms followed by a slight drop in temperature and fog in the mornings. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling through foggy areas.

Meanwhile, the southern region is expected to experience an increase in rainfall, with heavy rains in some areas. These heavy rains could lead to sudden flooding and flash floods, especially in hilly areas, near waterways, and low-lying areas.

Waves of 1-2 meters high are also expected in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions and exercise caution when traveling.

In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, from November 4th to 6th, there will be some morning fog with thunderstorms covering 10-30% of the area. The thunderstorms will then be covering about 20-40% of the metropolitan area from November 7th to 10th.
