American Found Dead in Phuket Hotel with Slashed Neck, Investigation Continues

A 35-year-old American man was found dead in a room at a hotel in Thalang with his neck slashed and an investigation is ongoing as to the possible cause.

The Cherng Talay Police were notified of the body by a member of staff at a hotel in Cherng Talay on Monday (October 30th). They arrived at the scene to find the body of a 35-year-old American man (The Phuket Express is withholding his name pending embassy and family notification). He was discovered shirtless with four slash wounds found on his neck. Police believe that the man died at least three days before his body was discovered .

CCTV footage at the hotel shows that he was last seen entering the room four days before on October 26th. A house keeper noticed a bad smell coming from the room. Hotel staff entered the room, which was unlocked and found his body. The name of the hotel was withheld at their request.

His body was taken to the Vachira Phuket Hospital to find the exact cause of death.
