Over 7 Million Baht Worth of Illegal Cigarettes and Liquor Seized in Hat Yai

On October 27th, 2023, the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) officials and relevant officials confiscated illegal cigarettes and illicit liquor worth more than 7 million baht at a private transportation center in Hat Yai, Songkhla.

The CPPD officials received a report from an anonymous source on illegal cigarettes and liquor smuggling via private transportation to customers on online platforms.

As a result of the confiscation, there were 7,340 illegal cigarette packs and 87 illicit bottles of wine and alcohol found at an estimated value of 7.2 million baht.

Initially, the inquiry officers confiscated the evidence for further legal proceedings and pledged to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
