On October 21st, 2023, regarding the case of Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Thai Prime Minister, was an exemplary inmate according to the Ministry of Justice and currently undergoing treatment at the Police General Hospital.
However, the recuperation period would only allow one to stay up to 60 days, the deadline was on October 22nd, 2023.

Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukvimol, the commissioner general of the Royal Thai Police, publicly revealed that the Thai Department of Corrections would have to wait for a doctor’s diagnosis after the 60-day recuperation period.
However, the final decision on the extension of the recuperation period in the Police General Hospital will be determined and announced soon by the Department of Corrections.
