Small Boats in Phuket Banned From Going Out to Sea

The Phuket Marine Office has issued a warning that small boats of less than six meters length are being banned from leaving ports into the open sea during this time.

The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Nachapong Pranit told the Phuket Express that according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), heavy rain is currently taking place in the Andaman Sea with strong waves up to two meters high in the open sea or more than two meters high in thunderstorm areas from October 16th – October 19th, 2023.

The Phuket Marine Office issued a warning on Sunday (October 15th) for boat captains to be more careful when traveling at sea. Small boats of less than six meters length are being BANNED from leaving ports into the open sea during this time.
