Fire at Building in Phuket Town Alarms Residents – VIDEO

Phuket –

A fire at a building on a main road in Phuket Town alarmed residents just before the past weekend.

Firefighters at the Phuket City Municipality were notified of the fire on Friday (October 13th) afternoon at 3:30 P.M. at a townhouse building on the Thep Krasattri Road in the Talad Yai sub-district, Mueang Phuket district.

Firefighters with three fire engines and local news Facebook page ‘Newshawk Phuket’ arrived at the scene to find lots of white smoke coming out from the building near the entrance of the Phuket Technical College.

The Phuket City Police said the building was locked from outside as no one was in the building which is also a local grocery. Firefighters broke the glass door in the front but the fire was on the second floor which was unable to be reached from the first floor.

Firefighters then used a ladder to climb up to the second floor by breaking a glass window on the side of the building. It took about ten minutes to control the fire. There were no injuries.

The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Phuket City Police.
