PRESS RELEASE:

The Royal Thai Government has announced the tourist visa exemption scheme for a 30-day stay to passport holders of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan, effective from 25 September 2023 to 29 February 2024.

The official Facebook page of the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok published the remarks of the Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand upon media inquiries on the visa exemption policy for Chinese tourists.

The spokesperson replied, “Thailand is a favored destination for Chinese tourists. The visa exemption granted to Chinese tourists will make their travel easier. It can also benefit the tourism development and economic recovery of Thailand. We appreciate this policy and are willing to provide the necessary support. Meanwhile, we expect that Thailand could provide safer and better service for Chinese tourists.”

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the visa exemption scheme extended to Chinese and Kazakhstani tourists is expected to help revive Thai tourism and achieve this year’s target of 25-30 million tourists and 2.38 trillion baht in revenue.
