Turtle Rescued on Beach in Phuket

Phuket –

A 10 year-old sea turtle has been rescued on a beach in Thalang.

Staff at the Sirinat National Park were notified by locals that they had found the sea turtle on Mai Khao Beach on Tuesday (September 5th).

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) arrived at the beach to find the female Olive Ridley sea turtle, aged around 10 years old. The turtle was 45 centimeters long and 30 centimeters wide. She weighed about 20 kilograms. Some minor wounds were found on the turtle.

The sea turtle was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center for further medical treatment.
