American Man Arrested For Allegedly Damaging a Rental Villa in Phuket

Phuket –

A wanted American man was arrested in Bangkok after he allegedly damaged a rental villa in Karon, Mueang Phuket.

The Royal Thai Immigration Bureau told TPN media on Monday (September 4th) that they arrested a man they identified only as Mr. John, 41, an American national. The arrest came after a rental villa owner in Karon filed a report to the Karon Police.

The villa owner, whose name was also withheld by law enforcement, told Karon Police that Mr. John had damaged their villa, providing CCTV footage as evidence. TPN Media notes that it was not mentioned why or how exactly Mr. John damaged the villa. Karon Police were unable to contact Mr. John after an extensive search before they requested a nationwide arrest warrant for him and contacted Royal Thai Immigration to stop him from potentially fleeing the Kingdom of Thailand.

Police and Immigration officers later found that Mr. John was staying at a condominium in Soi Sukhumvit 11 in Wattana, Bangkok. He was finally arrested before being taken back to the Karon Police Station in Phuket to face his charges.

Mr. John did not release a plea or statement to the press about the allegations immediately.
