Turtle Rescued on Phuket Beach

Phuket –

A sea turtle has been rescued on a beach in Thalang.

Staff at the Sirinat National Park were notified by Mr. Suppachock Eakkasai and Mr. Sawanon Promchai that they had found a sea turtle on the Nai Thon Beach.

The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) arrived at the beach to find the female Olive Ridley sea turtle, aged around 10 years old. Its front flipper was missing but it had no other wounds. No oil residue was found inside the turtle’s mouth. The turtle was 63 centimeters long and 60 centimeters wide.

The sea turtle was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center for further medical treatment.
