Fire Destroys Several Boats in Phuket, No Injuries

Phuket –

A fire destroyed two fishing boats at a pier in Phuket but luckily there were no injuries.

The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Chayapong Pranit told The Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at the Fish Market Organization Pier on the Sirey Island in Rassada, Mueang Phuket over the past weekend of August 27th, 2023.

Firefighters with fire engines arrived at the scene to find the fire was heavily ablaze at two parked fishing boats. The fire was finally brought under control after an extensive effort from firefighting teams. Both of the fishing boats were in disrepair and were not currently used as either residences or for fishing. No injuries were reported and no oil leaks were found.

The Phuket Marine Office is continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the fire, identify the owners of the boats, and determine the overall financial loss.
