Truck Carrying Gas Cylinders Overturns at Phuket Underpass

Firefighters were called after a truck which was carrying gas cylinders overturned at an underpass in Mueang Phuket.

The Phuket City Police were notified of the accident on Tuesday (August 22nd) at the Samkong Underpass on the Bypass Road in Rassada, Mueang Phuket.

Police and firefighters with multiple fire engines arrived at the underpass to find the overturned truck which was carrying gas cylinders on the underpasses Southbound lane.

The male driver Mr. Dawit Kongsomboon, 28, who had sustained minor injuries, told police that the truck was too heavy before he lost control of the vehicle. Mr. Puwanart Kanjanachai, 20, who was a passenger, had sustained various injuries.

Firefighters were spraying water and foam on the truck to prevent any fires. The underpass was temporarily closed to traffic on both Northbound and Southbound lanes while the gas cylinders and the truck were removed for safety. It took about half an hour to remove all gas cylinders from the truck.
