Phuket –
Sixteen students were rescued after an elevator’s door was unable to be opened for about half an hour at a university in Mueang Phuket.
The Phuket City Police, The Phuket Express, and emergency responders were called on Monday (August 21st) in the afternoon to the university in Rassada.
The elevator caretakers were unable to open the elevator’s door. Rescue workers use a jaw of life to force open the elevator door.
The students were freed from the elevator after they were stuck inside the lift for about half an hour. All of them were first year university students who were ten women and six men. Two of them were taken to a nearby hospital for panic-related breathing problems.
The Phuket Governor Naroong Woonciew later personally arrived at the scene to visit the rescued students and thank them for what he called their bravery.
