Two People Arrested with 40,000 Meth Pills and 2kg of Crystal Meth in Phuket

Phuket –

Two suspects were arrested with 40,000 methamphetamine pills and two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in Mueang Phuket.

The Wichit Police Chief Colonel Chatree Choowichean told the Phuket Express on Sunday (July 30th) that they have arrested Ms. Wanwisa Bamrungna, 31, from Phatthalung, and Ms. Suranya Hompean, 21, from Prachuap Khiri Khan. They were arrested in front of a parcel shop in Wichit on July 29th. Seized from them were 40,000 methamphetamine pills and two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

The arrest came after police received a tip-off that the suspects were going to receive parcels with illegal drugs inside. The two suspects told police that those parcels did not belong to them. They just did what they were hired to; take the drugs to customers and got paid little money for their job. They did not know by name, however, who hired them, or so they claimed.

Regardless, they were both taken to the Wichit Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell.
