Thalang –

A trailer truck driver died after glass sheets carried by a crane fell down on him.

Captain Warawut Sensoap of the Cherng Talay Police was notified by a local at the construction site of a hotel on Friday morning (July 14th) of the incident. Police, emergency responders, and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find a parked trailer truck.

On the back of the trailer truck they found the body of the trailer truck driver, Mr. Kittrakorn Puengboon, 42, from Nakhon Phanom. His body had been crushed by a large glass sheet. Nearby they found a crane truck with two expansive glass sheets inside a large box.

Witnesses told police that Mr. Jittrakorn was delivering glass sheets to the construction site. A crane truck operated by another driver, who wasn’t immediately identified, was dropping a sling with a hook to transport the sheets. Mr. Jittrakorn hooked the sling onto the box before the crane suddenly moved and the box fell on him. The box weighed a hundred kilograms.

Police are continuing the investigation to find the exact cause of the accident.
