Rough Weather Coming: Small Boats in Phuket to be Temporarily Banned From Leaving Ports

The Phuket Marine Office has issued a warning that small boats will be temporarily banned from leaving ports into the open sea due to inclement weather.

The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Nachapong Pranit told the Phuket Express that according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) heavy rain will take place along with strong waves in the Andaman Sea up to three meters high in the open sea or more than three meters high in thunderstorm areas from July 15th to July 18th, 2023.

The Phuket Marine Office issued a warning on Friday (July 14th) for boat captains to be more careful when traveling at sea. Small boats of less than 10 meters length will be BANNED from leaving ports into the open sea from July 15th to July 18th, 2023.
